Now They're Outraged...
Rove criticizes Democrats for their law and order approach to terrorism and truthfully states how the enemy is broadcasting What-A-Dick Durbin's remarks in the Mideast as propaganda against us, and the Dems are outraged. Outraged (!) that Rove would say such a thing and have just held a presser calling for Rove to apologize or resign.
Do the Democrats think they're helping their anti-American pansy-ass selves expressing more outrage towards Karl Rove than they ever have towards terrorists? Have they ever even called for a terrorist to "resign" or "apologize?"
If Democrats were half as opposed to terrorists as they are to Janice Rogers Brown... If they were half as offended by 9/11 as they are by a splash of urine on a Koran... If they were half as determined to defeat al-Queda as they are Bolton... They'd be patriots.
But they aren't. They want us to lose this war because they see that as a way regain control. They've put ambition above country, troop, and decency. They are a disgrace. But at least a self-defeating disgrace.
UPDATE: Welcome fellow Michelle Malkin fans. Take a look around. The Vixen and I hope you visit again.
UPDATE: Welcome fellow Polipundit fans as well!

Rove and the Republicans owe NO ONE an apology.
But since they're the real Americans, they should call for ALL Republicans (politicians or not) to put their kids on the front line of this war.
They love America...just not THAT much!!!

Well said!

Yep Robert, too bad the current draft has ALL the poor Democrat kids on the front lines now. Jeez.

Chuck,
Little help here please.
Why would Democrats kids fight this war?
Didn't Rove say Democrats hate America?
'Only Republicans' really want to save America, that's why they're signing up in droves (rolling eyes).
Steve Gilliard really puts these chickenhawks in their place:
"If you will not serve in Iraq, and no one you know will serve, stop expecting someone else to do what you will not. Therefore, it is time to stop calling for more troops, or the US to make Iraq safe. We cannot do this and even Americans are refusing to join the fight. It is time to look at your actions and realize, that despite your ideals, you oppose continuing this war. In practical terms, you have decided that this war is not worth your life or anyone you know. And million of Americans have joined you in this decision. So, with this fact evident, it is time to call for US troops to withdraw from Iraq. Not save it, not add more boots on the ground. You have already voted by your actions. It is time that you match it with your words."

The military IS overwhelmingly Republican. Why do you think Gore wanted every vote counted in Florida except the overseas ballots (and ones in Republican precincts)?
Those are Republicans fighting the war. Your criticism makes no sense in the face of facts.

OK Robert,
I really had no idea Rove's comments about liberals, not Democrat Progressives, would bring such outrage. I truly believe some Democrats want us to lose this war. After all they think this is the way to regain power but fail to realize a majority of Americans would never, ever trust the Democrats to defend this country.
I have fought in a thankless war, was proud to serve, but think this war is so much different. Cut and run from Vietnam with no major impact on the USA. Cut and run from Baghad and expect to defend NY, San Fran, DC or somewhere on US soil. It will happen.

Okay, all the Liberals with "Support The Troops" on your automobiles, stand up and be counted!
Posted by: Doug | June 23, 2005 at 06:52 PM
Robert-- you're just the sort of guy the Democrats need to persuade others to change their allegiances and join the progressive democrats- not. Is Carl Rove paying you to be so obnoxious and obtuse that only die hard, America hating democrats will continue to vote Democratic or are you the answer to Carl Roves prayers: another nut cases who will continue to be an ineffective advocates for the Democrats?

Well gee, I (A traitorous Democrat) was serving in the Army in Kosovo when 9/11 happened. Of course I and the other cowardly liberals in my platoon immediately thought about therapy for the hijackers.....
What on earth is happening to this country?
I want my 20 years back (that I served in the Army, stupid me)

Gee Anna, {I want my 20 years back (that I served in the Army, stupid me)} as a six year Vet I would love to give you your years back too. It is so horrible that Rove was picking on liberals (I read the transcript, He never never said the word Democrat in the portion of his speech that Dems are attacking). So are all these Dems liberals? Is that the problem here? With all due respect Ms Anna, I hope you re-read what Mr Rove said and understand that it was directed at certain people on the left. Move-on, Soros et al and not Dems in general (unless they are all liberals). BTW I thought most of you were Progressives these days, not liberals?

Harry,
What I found interesting is that Rove criticized liberals, not democrats. It is the dems and their leaders that responded by jumping in with both feet and blew the charade that they were centrists, moderates or mainstream. Seems like good 'ole Karl smoked 'em out for what they are, liberals. And liberals ARE weak on issues of national security. Hey, if the shoe fits...

OK Robert, let me ask you a simple question: How many anthrax alerts have you sat through?
Im a civilian who works with DoD, and I've sat through 3 since 911. Not drills, but actual alerts where some a**hole sent envelopes doctored with white powder. Turned out to be hoaxes, but there's few things in life to match the unique feelings watching a CBN team entering your building while outside MPs with loaded guns are watching to make sure no one panics and sneaks out.
You know what that makes me do? Put in a little extra overtime. I'm an old fat geek, and I'd last about 1 minute in a line platoon, but they also serve who make sure the bullets and beans get out. So screw you and your whole chicken dove army of terror enablers.

C'mon SDN.
You KNOW anthrax is no longer a story. Now that we found out that Anthrax from the fall of 2001 was made here in the good 'ol U.S. of A. (genuflecting properly as I write this).
Most importantly, we couldn't tie it to Iraq.
I find it hard to believe (but am open to seeing factual links that confirm) that there are NO liberals fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
If there is one or more liberals fighting in Iraq, wasn't Rove saying he doesn't support our troops?
I'll check-out all the blogs to make sure conservti, er I mean, Americans are calling on Rove to apologize NOW for disparaging our soldiers.

Hey Robert,
Do you think criminals should be caught and prosecuted? Fires should be put out?
Then why don't you join the police or fire department? Or do you oppose law enforcement?

THE 1ST LAW OF MODERN POLITICAL DISCOURSE:
Modern liberalism (secular socialism) is nothing more than people who are great at stating problems (real and imagined) but run for the tall grass when it comes to realistic solutions to anything ... they live for the handwringing crybaby thing ...
Angry unhappy people who live and die that way ... and since morality never matters for libs, they say anything at any time ... whine on cue ... mess up? ... the lib media will change your diapers.
Big govt, hi taxes and secular values are just getting so hard to sell ... breaks my heart ... boo hoo ... its all stale now ... find a new scam.
