It's All Coming Back To Me Now
In a comment discussion with blogger and author Michael Prescott he laid out a list of the Clinton White House scandals that had faded from my memory:
Hillary's cattle futures, Bill's Troopergate, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, the
travel office, IRS audits of conservative think tanks, the Secret Service's arrest of a guy for asking Clinton a tough question at a town hall meeting ... not to mention the corrupt cronies they surrounded themselves with - Ron Brown, Web Hubbel, Janet Reno (she was either corrupt or just grossly incompetent, I'm not sure which) ... and their hatchetmen like Dick Morris and Harold Ickes ... and the general air of sleaze emanating from the Clinton White House, with Bill hanging out in the Oval Office in a sweatsuit, telling people what kind of underwear he wore, making "jokes" about his critics being racists, implying that talk radio hosts were responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing ...
I don't know if he missed anything but until my head stops spinning it will be impossible to think about it. But Hillary wants to be President? Sheesh. Can this really happen?
UPDATE: Michael adds in the comments:
I had forgotten the pardons of Puerto Rican terrorists. Clinton also pardoned some sleazy millionaire crony of his just before leaving office - I've repressed the details.
On the other hand, conservatives went overboard in accusing Clinton of even worse things, like murder, drug smuggling (remember Mena Airport?), and treason. These wild claims undercut the credibility of the more serious criticisms.
Yes, they did. Some conservatives also made fun of Chelsea and I was living in NC when Jesse Helms made some crack about Clinton having to worry about the military should he visit. Helms lost my vote.

Those scandals are all down the memory hole. When they are brought up in the MSM it's always a "look at what those hateful GOPers are attacking for now" sort of article.
He did forget some. This is my favorite one http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F50A1FFA3E5B0C708DDDA90994D8404482&incamp=archive:search It's where Al Gore made a secret deal with Russia that violated a law that he had sponsored as a senator. This is the only story about it I've ever seen on this in any MSM outlet. No Wash Post, no LA Times, definitely no ABCCBSNBCCNNETC.
Take out "Al Gore" and insert "Dick Cheney" and just think of the blanket coverage this would have until Dick Cheney resigned.
Also, how about the total lack of interest in the details of Foster's suicide and the stonewalling of the investigation by Hillary? He killed himself somewhere and was dumped in a park. When investigators tried to look at his papers Hillary famously quoted, you can't do that, "We're the president!!!"
How about the pardons of the Puerto Rican terrorists just before the election in a heavily Puerto Rican state?
There are plenty more but I just get upset when I think of them.
The media covered for him so much that it's ridiculous. All the coverage of the Clinton WH scandals were of the "GOP attacking Clinton again" type. Think of Ken Starr. A very principled, honest and good person is now seen as almost as evil as Ashcroft and far more evil than Saddam or Osama bin Laden could ever be.
They'll try to do it again.
In her 2000 Senate race one reporter asked her one tough question and he was never allowed near her again.
The question is, can the blogosphere get the stories out there against an even more hostile media than in 2004?

Let's see...there was the selling of a burial plot in Arlington National Cemetery to a contributor. He had to be ehxumed and intermed elsewhere.
Then there was the Citizenshhip USA program in '95 to bus/ship/import/smuggle and additional 1-1.5 million Mexicans (illegal or not) and ship them off to cities where their votes were needed.
Then the closing-down/preserving of that national park in Ariz., thus making his bud, Riaddy, the largest holder of clean burning coal down in Thialand.
Elian Gonzalez
Waco. Where there were more tanks than at Mogadishu, Somalia.
Still never has released his medical records. co*cough*caine
I'm all for rewarding friends who've contributed to your campaign but setting up a front desk for the highest bidder was utter lack of respect for the office.
Stealing silverware on her way out.
Her UN Woman's China Abortion get-together that took the Seventh Fleet to carry.
I'm wore out.

Would the name you're hunting for be Mark Rich?
I believe he's been in the news again lately...

Wow. I had forgotten a lot of that stuff, but M6 is absolutely right. I can't believe I forgot Elian Gonzalez. Waco. Magadishu. And yes, the illegal Arlington Cemetary burial and the frantic attempt to process illegal aliens as citizens so they could vote Democratic.
And yes, Scriptfox, it's Mark Rich I was thinking of.
Clinton really was pretty damn sleazy, wasn't he? But I'll bet the general public's memory has faded as much as my own.
