Cindy Sheehan's daily briefing

Rjc_index_tplogo_1Today we're going to draw some words of wisdom from Matthew Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition. In "Is 'Blame Israel First' the Democrats' Message?" Brooks opens with a quote from Cindy Sheehan:

“You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism.”

The armchair (or lawn chair, as it is) policy wonkette is also quoted by Brooks as writing in a letter to "Nightline":

"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel."

After offering several more examples of the anti-war Dems' new poster child, Brooks goes on to say:

Israelflag"Is that where the Democrats are on the War in Iraq – and on US policy in the Middle East? The elimination of Saddam Hussein’s tyrannical rule is a victory for the oil companies and for American imperialism?

... We see her as yet another example of how critics of Israel within the Democratic Party have taken control of the party's agenda."

And, fittingly for our Daily Briefing to Cindy, Brooks has some words for her as well as the rest of the war-avoidance-at-any-cost left crowd:

"You know, as well as I, that Saddam Hussein launched scud missiles at Israel.

You know that he operated rape rooms and torture chambers.

You know that he launched chemical weapons at his own people.

You know that he housed terrorists as his guests in Iraq – terrorists such as Abu Nidal and Abu Abbas, who murdered Leon Klinghoffer on the Achille Lauro cruise ship.

You know that Saddam paid a bounty of $25,000 to the families of Palestinian homicide bombers.

You know that he was a threat to the stability of the entire region.

You also know that there were strong links between Saddam’s Iraq and Al Qaeda (for a new comprehensive summary of the latest evidence, check out www.HusseinAndTerror.com)."

Iraq fired 39 Scud missles at Israel during the 1991 Gulf War, the strikes killing 2 and injuring hundreds. Remember, Cindy, watching on the news little kiddies strapping on gas masks and frightened Tel Aviv and Haifa residents scrambling for cover? A little memory refreshment:

Scud5

Scud4

Scud1

Scud3

Scud2

We don't expect to elicit too much sympathy from Cindy for the reminder of Saddam's brutal strikes on Israel. After all, they're just Jewish neo-cons, right, Cindy? But try and digest this -- Israel hung back as the U.S. liberated Kuwait, yet Saddam carried through on his threat to attack Israel if Iraq was invaded. He lobbed missles at the nonaggressor in his backyard just because he could.

What's this we see... ANOTHER reason to have deposed Saddam? Yes... it's as clear as the flash of a Patriot missile heading for a Scud.
