Uncle Sam or Uncle Sucker?

What do North Korea, Iran, and China have in common? Aside from their head honchos making Parade’s top ten worst dictators list, they have made playing the U.S. for chumps a high art form. While our leaders make bold statements about not allowing North Korea and Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, everyone knows President Bush has his hands tied behind his back. Not only did North Korea sucker us into paying them while they built their nukes, now they have suckered us again by having us pay them not to build more nukes. It’s like watching Uncle Sam lose his shirt while playing Three-card Monte. John Bolton seemed to be the only guy that did not want to see the U.S. get played as such an easy mark, but he was shown the door.

Iran must be laughing at us as our President promises to take action while the Democrats do everything they can to undercut him. No wonder Iran thinks they can provide weapons to kill our soldiers without having to worry about us seeking retribution.

Not wanting to miss a chance to dupe Uncle Sam, China is now seeking a space weapons treaty after it tested an anti-satellite weapon little more than a month ago. That sounds like a good deal. You successfully test your space weapon, and then ask for a treaty to prohibit anyone else from building or testing one.

It is truly sad to see those running for office more interested in slamming the President than going after real threats to the world’s freedoms. The U.S. used to be the beacon for Democracy that stood up to dictators but now it seems we only bend over for them.
