Happy Birthday, Pope Benedict!
The pontiff turns 80 today, and one of his birthday gifts is 80 bottles of beer on the wall! Yes, a bishop toted the lot of Bavarian brew by train to the Vatican -- man, I love being Catholic! So pop a German brewski today and offer a toast to Pope Benedict XVI!

Apr. 3, 2007 (CWNews.com) - A Volkswagen once owned by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger is being offered for sale at an online auction, for the second time in two years.
The 1999 Volkswagen Golf once owned by Pope Benedict XVI (bio - news) is being offered on the Ebay auction site, with the proceeds of the sale promised to Habitat for Humanity Great Britain.
After the future Pontiff sold his old car-- which he rarely drove himself-- it was originally purchased by a German man. When Pope Benedict was elected in April 2005, the owner placed the car for auction, and it was bought by an internet casino, Golden Palace, for just under €189,000-- at that time, about $245,000.
Golden Palace has now re-listed the car for sale, reporting that it has not been driven since the 2005 purchase. The car is described as a simple gray Volkswagen Golf, with manual transmission and just over 46,000 miles of use.
The 10-day auction closes on April 10. After 3 days, 140 bidders had made offers, driving the price up to $200,000.
