Coulter Claptrap

Untitled_2 I just watched Ann Coulter on the Today show make an ass out of herself by trying to argue Clinton was a better choice for conservatives than McCain. McCain haters apparently did not learn anything by trying to push Romney as more conservative than McCain. Mitt Romney more conservative than McCain, are you kidding me? In fact Mitt’s conservative credentials were well behind both McCain and Huckabee. Conservatives did not buy the whole “McCain and Huckabee are really liberals and Mitts the real conservative” nonsense on Super Tuesday.

Statements like Coulter was spewing this morning only hurt her standing with conservatives. When the race is fully under way and the stark differences between McCain and the liberal democrat become clear, Coulter and her ilk will either have to eat crow or shut up and sit out the race.  Conservatives might forgive you for trying to pass Romney as a Reagan conservative, but they will not stand for you supporting Clinton or Obama.

Don't act like you're the Archbishop of conservatism. You don't have the power to annoint people. Coulter has proven her conservative bona fides over the years. John McCain spent the last eight making deals with Democrats and crapping on everone else.

Just wait until McCain gets into office and makes deals with Democrats on immigration, global warming, and turning tail on Iraq. Will you admit you've been played the fool then?

It would help if McCain picked a VP who would piss off Democrats and the drive-by media. Poke his finger in their eye for a change.
I'm thinking John Bolton, but that will never happen. I will vote for McCain unless he picks Liberman (someone I do respect) for VP, in order to suck up to the media.

So Nash, you think you're going to get a better deal on immigration, global warming, and Iraq from Clinton or Obama? I don't claim to be the Archbishop of conservatism but between McCain, Clinton, and Obama I know who is the most conservative by far. Do you?

Just read this on NRO:

[Kathryn Jean Lopez]

ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton has endorsed John McCain for president. Ambassador Bolton issued the following statement on his endorsement:
"John McCain was very active and supportive during my confirmation hearings to be the U.S. Ambassador to the UN. His belief in me at that time was a testament to his courage to fight the liberals in the Senate and vigorously advance American interests at the UN.

"I whole-heartedly endorse John McCain for President because when he takes office in January 2009 he will be prepared immediately to lead us. John will not need on the job training.

"American conservatives will have a President they can be proud of in John McCain."

John McCain thanked Ambassador Bolton for his support, stating, "I have long admired John Bolton's lifetime of service to our nation. From his work in the Reagan Administration to his most recent post at the UN, John Bolton has always been a stalwart defender of American national security interests and an effective advocate for advancing democracy and liberty around the world. I am humbled and honored to have his support.".

This goes a ways with me.
Kathryn Lopez suggest this with the headline: If He Names Him Secretary of State Now...

Well Secretary of State isn't VP, but it would be pretty cool, and a pretty good finger poke.
